Michael besteedt de nodige tijd aan akkoordenleer, belangrijk voor improvisatietechnieken. Leerlingen kunnen zelf met een lied komen, samen bekijken we de muzikale structuur. Noten kunnen lezen is handig, maar geen must. Verstand hebben van akkoorden en eenvoudige schema’s wel.

Dat geldt zeker ook voor de workshops van Michael tijdens het ZomerAtelier in Loon op Zand, aug. 2021.

Lessons accordion and piano

Michael teaches to play music in musicschools in, and around Tilburg: “I focus on chords, scales and improvisation skill. What I really love is world-music from different parts of the world, like Brasil, Louisianna, Ireland, Cuba, Brabant, etc. But you could surprise me with your own preferences! You make me happy when I’ve taught you to tell your own story on your own instrument. Let them folks dance, and if not, let them listen and enjoy.”
